Great North 5K heroes!
We are delighted to report that Team Smile Great North 5k runners all absolutely sprinted across the finish line at Newcastle Quayside on September 7th! Our youngsters, all with disabilities or learning difficulties, have been training hard with Smile Sports, and in their own time, to push their boundaries and sprint out of their comfort zone. Thomas, William, Cole, Lewis, Ross, James, Emily and Rachel, all achieved their dream and we are so very proud of them! 12 months ago, most of these young people would not have imagined they could reach this level of running but, with the correct support in place, yet again they raised the bar and accomplished the unimaginable. Thank you to each and every one of you for your commitment and determination, thank you to our wonderful team of volunteers and staff for their continued support and coaching and thank you to everyone who generously sponsored the team – you are all superstars!
